Which of these are you? Intellectual / Idealist / Creator / Innovator /
Cyber explorer / Questioner / Philosopher.
Intellectual, Idealist, CreatorWhat
makes you an intellectual / idealist / creator / innovator / cyber explorer /
questioner / philosopher?
Intellectual: Although I have done other things before, I'm currently
an English teacher. Reading can easily become a way of life for me if I'm not
careful. Although I manage well the practicalities of this plane of existence, I
have a very definite philosophical bent and am given to frequent bouts of
abstract thinking. I speak three languages and have a background in theoretical
linguistics and psychology.
Idealist: I believe that the world can change for the better and that
we all have a responsibility in making that happen. The classical mottos "be the
change you want to see" and "think global, act local" are still meaningful to
me. I'm not very interested in politics these days but humanitarian causes
always have my attention and I'd like to become more involved in volunteering .
Creator: I see life as an adventure of the mind and we are all
creators of that adventure. We may choose to subsist at the level of the lower
mammals (eat, sleep, s---t) or we may choose to use our physical vehicle to
expand our consciousness and to make a difference in the lives of others. So my
life is my art. I can also feel a book slowly coalescing in the deep recesses of
my psyche...
What interests do you have that you would like others to join you in?
I am happy to give many things a go, but my main interest in
the social arena is just hanging out with friends. If the company is good,
entertainment just happens, you don't have to plan for it.
What have you done in your life that you have either been really proud of,
or really enjoyed?
I have moved to a different country all by myself not
once, not twice... but three times in my life. (Yep, from Spain to Russia, from
there to the U.S. and from America to Australia). I'm exhausted! No longer a
wayward soul, I have totally lost my wanderlust now, at least when it comes to
the physical world. However, all this moving around has given me enormous
amounts of self-reliance and, I like to think, a little bit of knowledge of
human nature, which boils down, I'm afraid, to a line from a U2 song: "We are
one, but we are not the same".
What values would you like potential friends or a partner to share? Are
there any differences in the values you would require from friends as compared
to a partner, and if so, what?
Let me see, values... Respect, loyalty, compassion,
open-mindedness -- those go for everyone, I think.
What kind of friends / partner are you looking for?
In a partner I'm looking for steadfastness and dedication to me
and our relationship. I would, of course, reciprocate in kind. I am definitely a
romantic person and chivalrous gestures are never lost on me. I need to feel
excited about the man I'm with, not just comfortable. The way I understand a
partnership is being each other's shelter from the storm, providing for each
other a space where we can feel completely safe and nurtured. I think that in
any kind of relationship (partner or friends) there has to be that elusive
factor of compatibility: you either click or you don't. I wouldn't know how to
commit that factor to paper, I don't think you can.
Is there anything about yourself you'd like to promote? (website, business,
performances, books).
Not at the moment, but stay tuned... ;-)
Anything else you'd like to say?
I'd like to say thank you and good luck in creating the
friendships and relationships you want in your life.
