Which of these are you? Intellectual / Idealist / Creator / Innovator / Cyber explorer /  Questioner / Philosopher.

Cyber Explorer, Questioner, Philosopher

What makes you an intellectual / idealist / creator / innovator / cyber explorer / questioner / philosopher?

Cyber_Explorer: I love the PC, making them, taking them apart and making them go rather faster than they were intended to go. Still searching for that elusive magic blue smoke they tell me is inside every PC, waiting to be let out.

Questioner: I'm a geologist. I'm short-sighted, so I've always taken a 'close' interest in things. I am a keen observer of the natural world which fits with my job quite well. Nothing is safe when I'm around; if it can be taken apart, examined, peered at or otherwise disassembled, I'll be in the neighbourhood! Luckily I'm not too bad at putting things back together again. I enjoy hearing and value other people's opinions on economics, US foreign policy, nuclear energy, you name it. A lot of what drives me is not knowing about something makes me want to learn more. I ponder the ability of people to ignore the obvious - I know its beautiful but did you realise you're living on the side of a volcano? I question my own ability to work at a lead mine when I know much of my product is used as ammunition. But I enjoy it - the work, not the ammunition. I have a lot of questions

Philosopher: I love the question of whether we all do in fact possess free will. Quantum mechanics, religion and medicine have not answered this question yet. Illusion or reality?

What interests do you have that you would like others to join you in?

Day driving trips to interesting spots around Perth - scenery, history or just a good ol' stickybeak. Astronomy and exo-planetary geology. Other worlds are just as cool as this one. I enjoy walking. Natural landscapes. Industrial landscapes. Architecture. Planning on and slowly learning about kit cars and how to build them. I do fancy a fast car. Can't help it. Good science fiction. Asimov, Niven, John Christopher. I love technology and the change it enables. Computer games and their creation and evolution. Love to re-re-start learning to ride a horse. Third time lucky maybe?

What have you done in your life that you have either been really proud of, or really enjoyed?

Worked and lived in amazing places. (amazing to me anyway) Looked up at dark skies and seen real stars. Looked up at blue sky and thought... the stars are still there. Modeled terrain and lanscapes for computer games. (3,400 trees) Let go of an aircraft's wing. (yikes) Landing an aircraft for the first time. (phew) Shared all the above with other people. (cool)

What values would you like potential friends or a partner to share? Are there any differences in the values you would require from friends as compared to a partner, and if so, what?

A questioning mind. Tolerance. I think a partner should be a good friend too. One that doesn't agree with you all the time. Someone who can challenge you and be challenged without fear of the eggshell effect.

What kind of friends / partner are you looking for?

Friends who prefer coffee and conversation over alcohol and pulling out stop signs.

Is there anything about yourself you'd like to promote? (website, business, performances, books).

Pictures of Magellan, the mine I work at: www.ivernia.com

Anything else you'd like to say?

I love photography but I don't own a camera. I love flying but my stomach doesn't. I'm a loner but I enjoy company. I'm not a high flyer but I have high hopes. Never be content.
